Mountain Sunset

Create a vibrant work of art using gradations of warm colors from your pallet. Through creating this painting, you will learn how to use the gradation technique with only a few colors, using blending and texture brush techniques to help make this process pop into a complete composition.

I designed this lesson to challenge students with a new approach for creating a sky that is angled instead of straight across the canvas. I found that at first, many students struggled with this change of perspective. With a little perseverance and an open mind, they were pleased with the results.
